Our Curriculum:
Weekly Themed Learning
At Growing Little Footprints, we believe in creating a dynamic and enriching learning environment for young children. Our curriculum is designed to foster exploration, creativity, and growth, with a new theme each week to keep things exciting and fresh. This approach allows us to provide hands-on learning experiences that are both fun and educational, all while promoting critical developmental milestones.
Each week, our teachers follow a well-rounded plan centered around a specific theme. Every day, children participate in activities, crafts, and explorations that relate to the weekly theme, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. These activities are tailored to each child’s age and developmental stage, with a focus on building cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
Each week, our teachers introduce a different theme that aligns with the children’s natural curiosities and developmental needs. The theme guides the activities, crafts, circle time discussions, and learning centers for the week. This helps provide a sense of consistency while also keeping the learning experience exciting and varied.
For example, one week, the theme might be "Under the Sea," where children explore marine life through hands-on science experiments, read books about ocean animals, and create art projects like fish-shaped handprints or jellyfish crafts. On another week, the theme could be "Community Helpers," where children learn about the roles of firefighters, doctors, and teachers, engage in dramatic play as community helpers, and explore themed sensory activities
What Happens Each Week?
Every day, the children participate in craft activities that tie into the weekly theme. These hands-on projects allow them to express their creativity while learning about the theme in a tactile way. For example, during the "Under the Sea" week, children may create sea creatures from paper plates, decorate ocean-themed sensory bottles, or make a collaborative ocean mural.
Throughout the week, our themed activities flow into our various learning centers, where children explore the theme in different ways:
1. Art Center
2. Sensory Center
3. Math/Science Center
4. Dramatic Play Center
5. Circle Time Discussions
6. Physical & Outdoor Activities
7. Music & Movement
Example of a Weekly Theme: “Under the Sea”

Monday
Introduction to the ocean—read books about sea creatures and watch a short video of ocean life. Craft: Fish-shaped handprints.
Tuesday
Ocean animal exploration—discuss sea turtles, sharks, and whales. Sensory bin with water, plastic sea animals, and shells.
Wednesday
The importance of ocean conservation—talk about how we can protect the ocean. Craft: Jellyfish using paper plates and streamers.
Thursday
Underwater exploration—explore a "scavenger hunt" in the sensory bin to find hidden sea creatures. Music & Movement: "The Fishy Song" with dance movements.
Friday
Ocean party! Children dress up as their favorite sea creature and participate in a themed parade. Wrap up the week with a review of what they learned.

By following this curriculum structure, we ensure that each child is not only learning in a fun and dynamic way but also developing essential skills in every area. We can’t wait to see your child’s growth as they journey through our exciting weekly themes at Growing Little Footprints!
Our Learning Centers
At Growing Little Footprints, we believe in providing a variety of hands-on learning experiences for children at every stage of development. Our thoughtfully designed centers allow children to explore, create, and grow through play. Here’s a look at the centers we offer:
Our Art Center is all about creativity! Children can explore different materials like paint, crayons, markers, clay, and more. Through activities like drawing, crafting, and sensory play, children express themselves while building fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity.
In the Block/Building Center, children can explore their engineering skills with blocks, Legos, and other construction toys. This area encourages problem-solving, spatial awareness, and teamwork as they work together to build structures and design their own creations.
The Reading/Library Center fosters a love for reading and language. Children can enjoy a variety of age-appropriate books, whether it's reading with a teacher or exploring on their own. This center helps improve literacy, listening comprehension, and vocabulary development.
In our Dramatic Play Center, children engage in imaginative play using costumes, pretend food, dolls, and more. Whether they’re playing house, pretending to cook, or being superheroes, this center promotes social interaction, language development, and creativity.
Our Sensory Center is designed to engage children’s senses through activities like playing with sand, water, rice, and other textured materials. These activities help children develop fine motor skills, enhance their sensory processing, and encourage exploration and curiosity.
At the Math/Science Center, children are introduced to concepts like counting, sorting, and simple experiments. With hands-on activities like measuring, building patterns, or investigating nature, children develop critical thinking skills, an understanding of numbers, and curiosity about the world around them.
Music is a vital part of early childhood development, and our Music Center offers plenty of opportunities for children to sing, dance, and experiment with musical instruments. Children develop rhythm, auditory skills, and emotional expression while having fun with music.
